It may be distanced, it may be virtual, and it may even actually be in person at some point: 2021 gravel racing season is upon us and @rodeolabsprogravelteam is ready to lay down the watts on some sparkling new TD3.1 race bikes. Did we say “new”? Let us explain. As previously promised, we didn’t just cast aside last year’s race bikes. We refurbished them and made them as good or better than new. After we stripped down the dirty, scratched, chipped, crashed 3.0 frames we sent them off to the bike spa at Flux Customs for a thorough sand down and re-coat in ultralight ceramic polymer Cerakote coating. Gone are the battle wounds from a season of hard racing and in their place is an ultra-sharp 2021 team race livery. While we were at it we upgraded the 2.0 Sporks to the lighter, more svelte 3.0 version. Also new to the builds are custom team livery Knight Composites carbon wheels in various depths and profiles that echo the design themes that will soon debut on the teams new Sportful race kits. So matchy, much pro, v grav. Back for 2021 is Selle Repente with their new gravel specific (more padding + metal rail options) Artax and Quasar saddles. Xpedo USA has joined the party with the CXR Ti pedals. Challenge Tires has provided the team with a fleet of handmade tires for all conditions including the new Getaway gravel racing tire that was co-developed with the team in 2020. We’re also excited to show new helmets from Lazer Sport tools and accessories from Crank Brothers and a host of other sponsors that have joined the effort this year. We can’t wait to see these Donkeys in action!
