The team at Cerakote has completed thorough testing of 10X Blasting Media – EpiX MP – and we are pleased to announce it is now officially an approved blasting media for Cerakote applications.
CERAKOTE APPROVES 10X ENGINEERED MATERIALS BLASTING MEDIA (EPIX MP)
Throughout our evaluation, EpiX MP demonstrated excellent adhesion performance on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and composites. We also observed that it leaves a very clean blast profile with minimal media embedment, contributing to a superior surface finish.One notable difference with EpiX MP is its unique 70/100 grit blend. Due to this, we recommend adjusting blasting pressures based on substrate type for optimal results:
- Softer Metals (e.g., aluminum, brass): 40–60 PSI
- Harder Metals (e.g., steel, titanium, Inconel): 80–100 PSI (standard recommendation)
- Composite Materials (e.g., plastics, polymers, fiberglass): 30–40 PSI
EpiX MP has proven to be a highly effective and versatile media, and we're excited to offer it as an approved option within the Cerakote application process.
