That's why we're proud to announce that Cerakote H Series and F Series coatings successfully passed the 45° Vertical Flammability Test in accordance with 14 CFR 25.853(a), Amendment 25-116, Appendix F, Part I(a)(1)(i). Testing was conducted by the independent aerospace laboratory, Aeroblaze Laboratory.
The coatings tested included:
All three coatings passed the Federal standard. To see the actual test results: click here.
What makes these results noteworthy?
During testing, coated 6061 aluminum panels were exposed to a minimum 1,550°F flame for 60 seconds. The test measures how a material behaves after the ignition source is removed, evaluating:
The Cerakote-coated samples delivered outstanding performance:
For aerospace manufacturers, these characteristics are important because materials that self-extinguish and resist flame propagation can help support compliance with stringent aircraft flammability requirements.
Performance in aerospace isn't measured by durability alone. It's measured by how materials respond under the most demanding conditions.
This latest independent testing adds another layer of validated performance to Cerakote's growing portfolio of aerospace test data.
